Self-adhesive scanner rails attach price labels, barcodes and product information directly to the shelf. At SPRINTIS, you’ll find PVC price rails with a transparent, scanner-compatible front. Self-adhesive scanner rails: Which variant is right for you?

A self-adhesive scanner rail is a label holder that is attached to the shelf using an adhesive backing. The front holds transparent price labels or barcodes, allowing them to be scanned. Depending on the profile, the models differ in terms of reading angle, insertion depth, operation and intended use.

What should you look out for with self-adhesive scanner rails?

1. Shelving unit and surface

First, check which shelving system the price rail is intended for. Depending on the model, the product specifications list, amongst others, wooden and glass shelves, as well as Adams, Eden, Linde, Magore, Otto-Kind, Storebest and Tegometall shelving.

Some models are more specifically designated. HE is intended for shelves without a front groove. NO is offered for certain shelving systems. The relevant product specification should therefore be checked before ordering.

2. Insertion height of the label

The insertion height must match the price label being used. Greater insertion heights provide more space for the price, unit price, barcode or additional product details. Measure the label and select the rail based on its actual height.

3. Length of the scanner rail

Choose between short sections, standard lengths and custom dimensions. For non-standard shelving widths, the DBR Configurator offers different lengths and profile heights.

4. Standard adhesive tape or foam adhesive tape

For several DBR and HE variants, you can choose between standard adhesive tape and foam adhesive tape. As standard, we use a non-woven adhesive tape, which is suitable for applications on smooth surfaces. Scanner rails with foam adhesive tape are suitable for use on both smooth and rough or uneven surfaces

Before application, the surface should be free from dust, grease and any old adhesive residue.

5. Reading angle

HE and NO align the label at an angle of 15°. These variants are relevant when the labels are not to be positioned vertically on the shelf.

The choice between HE and NO then depends on the shelving system, the required insertion height and the available lengths. For straight alignment, the classic DBR version is ideal.

6. Additional function

Select the additional function according to the workflow on the shelf:

• Grip edge: makes it easier to open and insert labels.
• C-latch: locks the insert in place and holds the label in position.
• DBD: adds a second price label to an existing rail.
