These consist of a round hard ferrite magnet located in the middle of a metal pot made of steel or stainless steel. The pot protects the magnet and increases its attraction on the open side. In addition, pot magnets made of hard ferrite are heat and corrosion resistant, but also have a lower adhesive force than rare earth magnets. Ferrite magnets are comparatively affordable because the raw materials for ferrites, unlike rare earths metals, are available in large quantities.
