It all started with an idea

Inspired by Klaus Schenk’s professional activities, Rita Schenk began selling self-adhesive pockets for ring binders and project folders from her home at the end of the 1980s. At this time, the company founded by the couple traded under the name X-SYS – the goods were stored under the corner seat. Increasing orders led to an expansion of the range, laying the foundation for SPRINTIS, a company that has since become both successful and continuously growing.

Company renaming

In 2001, the son, Christian Schenk, joined the company and took over marketing, among other responsibilities. In the same year, the company name was changed to Handelsagentur SCHENK.

Conversion to GmbH

In 2003, the son, Matthias Schenk also joined the company. The company was converted into a GmbH & Co. KG.

Generational Change

The wholesale company experienced a further upswing when it was taken over by Christian and Matthias Schenk as managing directors in 2005. The customer base grew considerably with new ideas and a further expansion of the product range.

New Authorised Signatory, launch of online shop

With the entry of Holger Heusinger, who later became an authorised signatory, important processes were initiated and optimised: the acquisition of larger office and storage spaces, and above all, the successful launch of the online shop – one of the first in the industry – demonstrated foresight and opened up new opportunities.

Company renaming

In 2009, the company adopted its current name, SPRINTIS Schenk GmbH & Co. KG.

Trademark registration and international expansion

In 2010, the company registered itself as a trademark (trademark number 008353914) in order to legally protect its name throughout Europe. All departments, whether Customer Care, Purchasing, Marketing, Accounting or Warehouse & Logistics, were gradually expanded in terms of personnel. Since then, the company has continued to expand steadily and has made the leap onto the international market with English-language versions of the online shop and various print advertising materials.

Expansion of warehouse, staff, and company premises

New buildings and modifications on the company's premises were part of the agenda in order to meet the growing demands in terms of personnel and warehouse capacity, while remaining open to new and exciting challenges. For example, in 2016, the warehouse capacity was nearly doubled by state-of-the-art shelving systems (6,000 pallet spaces), and more new jobs were created than ever before in a single year in the company's history.

In addition to the existing building at Frankfurter Straße 96, further commercial space was built. Additionally, a public meeting room, a parking deck, as well as a sports court and beach volleyball field for shared use were built, providing numerous sports and leisure opportunities.

In 2016, the first international shop in the Netherlands for the Benelux countries went live, marking a significant step in the company's international expansion.

Completion of the spaces and internationalisation

The new office and warehouse spaces were completed in the summer of 2019. The steady expansion continued with the internationalisation and the subsequent launch of country-specific online shops in France, Spain and Italy.

Expansion of the product range through HMT Magnet

In 2023, Haas & Co. Magnettechnik GmbH, based in Wiesbaden, was continued as the sister company HMT Magnet GmbH & Co. KG to expand the product range in the field of magnetic technology.

Cooperation with LEO's

SPRINTIS takes over around 90 % of the former LEO’s product range, expands its range of printing supplies and strengthens the cooperation, while both companies remain legally independent.
