Deep pot magnets
A deep pot magnet is a practical magnetic system consisting of a cylindrical, zinc-plated steel case in which there is a strong magnet, which is inserted into the case in the same way as pot magnets. Deep pot magnets offer a strong adhesive force even at low volumes and are characterised by the versatility of their application areas. Which magnetic cores are used for the deep pot magnets?
The magnetic cores of the deep pot magnets are made of AlNiCo, an alloy of aluminium, iron, copper, nickel and cobalt or NdFeB, consisting of neodymium-iron-boron. Depending on the magnetic core, the adhesive force and the maximum operating temperature of the deep pot magnets also vary.
Neodymium magnets have an above-average adhesive force and offer an advantage in this respect compared to the adhesive AlNiCo magnets. However, if you consider the temperature resistance of the magnetic systems, the deep pot magnets made of AlNiCo, at 450°C, are significantly higher than the NdFeB magnets with a maximum operating temperature of 80°C.
A special feature of the deep pot magnets is that they only have a magnetic adhesive surface. This results in a very precise force effect, which means that smaller magnetic particles, unlike conventional deep pot magnets, are not attracted.
What are the possible applications for deep pot magnets?
A deep pot magnet has a wide range of applications in different industries and areas. They are particularly suitable for the following purposes:
- Holding doors and flaps on ovens, machines and furniture
- Fixing, fastening and transporting workpieces
- Fastening systems to formwork tables
- As contact element for conducting current
- Holding of measuring devices and metal parts for spray painting
What versions of deep pot magnets are available?
Our deep pot magnets are available in many different versions:
- with internal thread
- with external thread
- with a red lacquered surface
- with adjustable case
